When Should I See a GP Instead of a Massage Therapist?

Nailsworth Clinical & sports massage can help many causes of back, neck and shoulder pain — but sometimes medical assessment is the right first step.

You should see your GP if you experience:

  • Progressive numbness or weakness
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control
  • Unexplained weight loss or fever
  • Severe night pain that doesn’t ease
  • Recent trauma (fall, accident)
  • Pain that isn’t improving at all

These may indicate something that needs medical investigation before hands-on treatment.

At Days Mill Treatments in Nailsworth, I always assess for red flags. If symptoms suggest you’d benefit more from GP review or imaging,

I’ll advise that clearly.

Safe, ethical, clinical care comes first.
