Scoliosis & Massage: It’s Not Just Weak vs Strong muscles - Part 2.

Scoliosis isn’t simply about one side of the body being weak and the other strong. The body adapts as a whole to the spinal curve.

Typically, muscles on the inside of the curve become tight and shortened (hypertonic), while muscles on the outside are lengthened and under tension. But importantly, both sides can feel strong — they are doing their job of holding the body in that position.

Over time, it’s not just muscles that adapt. Fascia, nerves, blood vessels and even organs shift to accommodate the curve. The entire system becomes set in this pattern.

This is why pain and restriction can build over time.

At Days Mill Treatments, I use a calm, clinical and effective approach to:

  • Reduce excessive muscle tension
  • Improve movement and balance
  • Support long-term spinal health

Massage won’t “fix” scoliosis — but it can make a real difference to comfort, mobility and function.
